This is an example of how a well-thought-out modernization of a heating system can effectively cut operating costs while increasing residents’ comfort.
Strzegom – figures that convince
In 2025 the cooperative commissioned, among other things, three new gas boiler plants in Strzegom, equipped with cascades of modern Termet condensing boilers. Data from Q4 2025 already showed that heating costs had fallen by about one third compared with the same period in 2024, when the buildings used the municipal coal-fired boiler plant.
The result? Heating costs lower by 30 to almost 40%, and the ability to manage heating of each building independently. This is an example that a well-designed and built gas boiler plant supplying several nearby single-family buildings quickly starts to pay for itself.
Does a local gas boiler plant really pay off?
An analysis of heating costs of multi-family buildings in Strzegom gives a clear answer: yes. Reduced distribution losses, no charges related to external infrastructure, and the high efficiency of condensing gas boilers translate into real financial savings.

How was the investment financed without burdening residents?
Integrating the heating system with RES (photovoltaics) enabled the cooperative to obtain a subsidy from EU funds. Thanks to this the investment was completed without raising charges to the renovation fund. The costs will be recouped from savings on heating. This is an important argument for managers: building a modern gas boiler plant can be, at the implementation stage, neutral for residents’ budgets, and in the longer term lead to lower heating bills.

The president of the Housing Cooperative in Świebodzice, Elżbieta Krzan, announces similar investments on further estates. She stresses that an own heat source means not only current savings, but also greater cost stability, the possibility of further integration with renewable energy sources, and flexible planning of subsequent modernization stages.
